The Levels is a hi-tech recording, archiving and mastering
facility providing computer based recording through a well established
mix of analogue and digital hardware. A range of high quality microphones,
preamps and plug-ins complements these.
The studio also has a fine selection of guitars, keyboards,
modules and drums. It was built in 1999 and offers excellent separation
and vision between the control room, live room, drum room and vocal
booth.
The studio is situated in the lovely rural village
of Stoke St. Gregory on the Somerset Levels, an area designated
of Special Scientific Interest because of its scenic beauty and
wildlife. It is popular with walkers, birdwatchers and summer tourists.
Accommodation is well catered for locally and there
are two excellent pubs with restaurants (within minutes walking
distance from the studio!) in the village. Otherwise the county
town of Taunton is about twenty minutes drive away.
Stoke St. Gregory is about fifteen minutes drive eastwards
from both junction 23, if travelling south, and junction 24, if
travelling north, on the M5.
